It was a gift and a privilege for me to be with my own grandfather "Papi" when he was dying. This was such a priceless experience for our family and brought us so much closer. The death of my Papi was one of the richest experiences I have ever had, in large part because of the guidance we received during the process. It transformed what could have solely been a time of grief into what became one of the most meaningful and loving events of my life.
This life changing experience inspired a passion in me to guide others through this important journey. The lessons I learned with Papi as he was dying, have been a beacon of light throughout my life, especially when, a few years later, I lost my parents.
It became clear to me that when a caregiver knows what to expect and how to prepare for it, that this very sad part of the journey can also become a gift. Caregiving a loved one, although difficult, can be one of the most precious moments a family can share with the right support. My purpose is to help you to use this time when a loved one is in their last stages and dying, as an opportunity to appreciate how precious life is, the importance of family and how it might change your perspective on your own life going forward.
